My name is Marcus, I am a UK-based Chartered Architectural Technologist and have been working in private practice since 1991.

I offer a standalone, fixed-fee Building Regulations drawing package service to architectural practices on a strictly confidential basis.

Born in Coventry, I trained with Roy A Geden RIBA in the 1990s, and went on to be Group Architectural Designer for a well-regarded residential development and construction company in 1999.

I started my own CIAT Chartered Architectural Practice, Hampton Architecture Ltd, in 2003, based in Solihull and specialising in residential design, specifically alterations and extensions, conversions, and small-scale new build projects.

In tandem with my architectural practice, I ran my own construction company for several years in the mid-2000s and was heavily involved with day-to-day works on site. My wife Sally and I also developed several properties of our own.

My whole working life has been client-facing, taking projects from the initial client meeting and fee proposal, through concept design, planning and Building Regulations, to completion and handover.

Over the last decade I’ve also specified, tendered and administered residential building contracts with a combined construction value in the region of £15 million, using both JCT and RIBA contract formats. In the same time period I have successfully completed planning and building regulations partial services for literally hundreds of residential projects.

In 2026, having moved to Old Town, Stratford-upon-Avon, and deciding that at 53 years old, while I may not technically qualify for “Old Town” status, I could probably consider working on a consultancy basis - and perhaps even an occasional four-day week.

Going back to the headline, “The best Building Regulations drawings we have ever seen.”

I know this is a bold statement, (and I’m still not 100% sure about putting in on the internet), however this is genuinely something I hear a lot from builders, site managers, and building control. It’s something I suspect I will never tire of hearing. I would be very pleased to share that experience with you and your practice.
